DIY Mortgage Review for Borrowers

Welcome to the Do It Yourself Mortgage Review for Borrowers product page! My name is Christine Springer, and I am the author of this e-book.

I began auditing mortgage loans in 2008, and by 2009, I began blogging about the problems I was finding in client loan audits. I started auditing for Truth In Lending and RESPA violations, and then began to include the recorded chain of documents in my audits.

This product is an e-book with step-by-step instructions on how to critically review your mortgage or deed of trust paperwork for errors and factual issues. It is designed for borrowers with no prior legal or mortgage experience.

If you're in foreclosure, however, chances are you're more savvy than you realize. The recent recession was a big wakeup call to everyone who owned a home and found themselves in foreclosure.

As you probably know, there is so much information on the internet about fighting foreclosure, and it can be overwhelming and much of it is based on information from earlier in the foreclosure crisis.

What worked then doesn't necessarily work now. Early on, there were no lawyers and borrowers had to defend themselves.

However, now the case law is more fully developed, the courts are more educated and there are more lawyers practicing in foreclosure defense. This makes foreclosure defense much more complex, and it is dependent on your state.

The good news is that homeowners who want to keep their homes have a better chance of getting a favorable outcome than they did from 2007 - 2013. There was a big shift in court sentiment in early 2014, and that's when I began noticing that homeowners were winning. That's also around the time when Barbara Forde won the Steinberger case here in Arizona.

It's hard to believe I wrote this product ten years ago and it's still relevant in 2020!

There are probably multiple ways to succeed in getting a good outcome on your foreclosure matter.

I'm not saying that my strategy is the only way, but it has worked for a lot of people.
